The Club
Everyone starts
on the ground.
We've run climb nights at Junction Climbing Centre since 2017. Most of our members turned up having never touched a wall — now they're projecting overhangs and arguing about beta.
Every Sunday the gym fills with Western students. Execs run group belay lessons, rentals are covered, and there's always someone happy to spot you on a problem you have no business trying yet.

Getting Started
Four steps to the wall

Get your membership
A $20 club membership unlocks discounted entry, events and gear rentals for the whole year. Buy it through the USC storefront.
- 02
Sign the waivers
Two forms, five minutes. One for the USC, one for Junction Climbing Centre. Do them before your first night and walk straight in.
- 03
Grab a pass
Pay per night or cover the whole semester. Online is faster — it gets you past the check-in line and onto the wall.
- 04
Climb
Sundays, 6:30 to 9:15pm at Junction. Rent everything at the gym, find a group, and get on something that scares you a little.

Before your first night
Junction Climbing Centre or J2 Bouldering, Sundays from 6:30pm to 9:15pm.
$20. Everyone must purchase a club membership before attending our events. Memberships are available online through the USC storefront.
$5 for Junction members, $10 for everyone else. Pay online or in person — online payments speed up check-in considerably.
Nope. Most of our members start as complete beginners, and we run beginner courses and workshops throughout the year.
Nope. You can rent everything you need at the gym.
Over 50% off entry fees, free harness rentals, group belay lessons, and a room full of people who want to climb with you.
Dead hang and pull-up contests, in-house bouldering competitions with climbing gear and club merch as prizes, plus the University Bouldering Series where Western competes against climbing teams from other Ontario universities.
Junction is at 1030 Elias Street. From campus, take the #2 bus from Natural Sciences Centre and get off at Dundas at Kellogg Lane, then walk straight down Dundas Street — you'll see the gym.
